I filled a support ticket with LN Engineering and they told me they are just a reselling couldnt help me to work with UltimateAOS.

I had my engine out (3.4) and installed the intake plenums before the breather hose...I tried to figure out a way to install it without taking everything back off but couldnt do it...

I have removed all the bolts holding the manifold on and removed both plenums but cant pull out the manifold because of the corrugated pipe running through the manifold.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello,
I am replacing my AOS with a UAOS on my 2003 C4S. I have removed all the bolts holding the manifold on and removed both plenums but cant pull out the manifold because of the corrugated pipe running through the manifold. How is the corregated pipe secured to the AOS. It looks like its just pushed on. Is it a matter of just working it off? Any advice is appreciated.
Another question. My manifold was secured with 10mm hex bolts is this normal? All the instructions i have seen show torx bolts.
Stephen
The corrugated breather hose is secured with a quick release ( that is not so quick...lol) , You can squeeze the two sides of the release or get this tool from LN Engineering ..
https://lnengineering.com/products/s...86-models.html
The early intakes have 10mm hex heads and the newer ones have the Inverted Torx.heads.
U have to pinch/squeeze the end of the tube. This wil release the "lock" and allow u to work the pipe off. Sometimes its very difficult and be careful that pipe can easily crack. I think in your year there were 2 e-torque bolts in the back hold the aos in not the intake or more likely skip is correct
.
Hello again,
Looking at the UAOS i received i think i have the wrong version. From what i can feel on the way the AOS is secured it is secured from bolts on the top. The UAOS i received is secured from the side. I ordered it from LN Engineering and gave them my VIN number.
I did not replace the insulation as its not really needed.
Yes it sounds like u have the 3.4l version if the aos. They bolt through the side. U can do a search and see the differences.
While I think LN Engineering is a great company with great products, that video has to be the worst/most useless Ive ever seen! Also, $30 for a chunk of red plastic? How difficult would it be to measure the opening of the not a wrench and make one out of an old wrench, or a piece of plastic or wood (or whatever) you have laying around... 😏 Wow...
That
corrugated breather hose cracked on me when going back in. After so many heat cycles it was pretty brittle and the new one was much more flexible. Depending on the shape yours is in it might be a good idea to get a replacement.
^^^ did you reinstall it with the engine in the car? It must have been a nightmare! I had my engine out (3.4) and installed the intake plenums before the breather hose...I tried to figure out a way to install it without taking everything back off but couldnt do it... I cant even imagine doing it with the engine in the car...
Yup - did the UAOS install with the engine in the car. I just lowered it and removed both intake manifolds. Everyone's mechanical ability is different and I'm no master mechanic. While I found the job challenging it wasn't super hard. You just need to figure out how to work in tight spaces and have the right tools. I wrote the DIY with a bunch of photos and tools I used that is posted in the UAOS install tips thread. I think another member took it and put it into a single downloadable doc which is useful. Lets just say a tiny ratchet, wobble extensions and an 8mm ratchet wrench were my favorite tools
I filled a support ticket with LN Engineering and they told me they are just a reselling couldnt help me to work with UltimateAOS. I bit disappointing response from LN Engineering.
I got you, LN Engineering didn't box the parts, my Employee did, so the fault is on me to make it right..
Shipping you the correct Lifetime AOS for 996.2, all other parts are the same, replied to your PM and E-mail and included my personal E-mail contact info.
So sorry for the mistake.
Thank you Chip. I dont have issues with the mistake, we all make them. Its how we respond to our mistakes that makes a difference. Thank you for the quick response with regards to that.
I wont belabor the point with LN Engineering.
Have a great day.

I just completed (mostly) my install yesterday along with replacing the fuel injectors. Just need to replace one of the vacuum Y connectors that broke and put the airbox back in. Hopefully it will fire up...
Overall not incredibly difficult, just requires patience and the right tools. I had to walk away a few times when it was getting frustrated. The biggest challenges were the front bolt on the driver side manifold and the rear bolt on the AOS which was challenging to get started. I recommend taking a lot of pictures as you go along as documentation available doesnt always match the version of engine you are working on. Label all the connections and bag all the bolts. Buy vacuum line fittings because they can be brittle.
