Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

31 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No really. Or at least not what you are expecting. Any "serious" discussion of the item should be mocked accordingly. Finally swapped ours and found a pristine dual row bearing. LN may want it for their warranty coverage, but that's their problem. As much of a PITA as these damn things are, I'm keeping it so I can mock it every day! So the question now is, what do I do to display it? I'm thinking about getting it gold plated, but the companies I've reached out to so far haven't responded Beyond that, however, I haven't thought of how to actually display it. So, any thoughts and ideas from the cheap seats?

POST 2Original post

Im just gonna set mine on my desk at work. Right next to the piston I use to hold paperclips.

POST 3Original post

How many miles were on it? what month/year was your car built in?

Yeah I'm a fiddler, so if what ever do allows it to still spin my work output is probably going to go to hell

No way will I mock Mike like that. He did what he should have and still lost his motor I don't want to call that bad karma down on myself

POST 7Original post

I wonder if you can have glass poured over it into a whiskey glass. Then you can see that once in a while while sipping your Lagavolin or whatever you're into. Actually Lagavolin 16 is my favorite scotch.

POST 8Original post

Get a Sit N Spin and modify the bottom with the bearing you got. Instant fun for hours.

That would be a massive glass

I used to love mine as a kid. One of the few toys I really remember. I do have a 3 year old who would probably go for that, but I couldn't live with myself if it decided to go and cause a CS&SF

Might make interesting decor for your office waiting room.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Found a local plater and dropped it off this morning for an estimate. Their minimum charge for gold plating is $325 and it falls under that. Not sure if I think it's worth that...

14, 18k, or 24k? Also did they charge you extra to remove and reinstall that o-ring and seal ring?

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

24k and they left the o-rings in place.

But they wouldn't be magnetic so nothing to worry about

POST 21Original post

You crazy goon! Love it! BTW, I know of a certain mature gentleman that has a taste for finer things that would love it as well. You guys should hook up for some Courvoisier and cigars and talk about this new book.

First you are talking about probing the potential male buyers of your car and now you are wanting to see guys hook up with each other. Are you really selling your car so you can pick up a Miata and join DT on the Hairdresser's racing circuit? Speaking of, I got behind a Prius this morning with the license plate "Man&Cat" with a line of cat foot print stickers running down it. You were the first thing that came to mind...

POST 23Original post

The only cat I have is my wife. Nice come back!

VERY NICE. That puts my piston/LMSB combo to shame. Yours is worthy of a lifetime of desk display.

I figure this makes it at least looks like the $10k of depreciation it's cost us Pretty sure I've already gotten my $325 out of it as much spinning of it that I've been doing. Also pretty sure my co-workers will be happy that I'll be working from home the next 2 days

POST 27Original post

Damn, and I thought people who buy enormous iPhones were the ones with a disposable income issue.

POST 28 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hmmm, anyone know the rough IMS revolutions in a mile at an average of 3k RPM engine speed? As much as I'm spinning this thing I'm half curious to start tracking it and see how many more "miles" I get before it causes a catastrophic desk failure

POST 29 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 12596840

Is two oversized or one ginormous iPhone worse? (honestly, work pays for one!)

POST 30Original post

You need to put some weight on it so it has some thrust load.

I'm going to have to track down a used dual row now.
