I'm using the Maguires microfiber system on my girlfriends BMW and I was debating whether not I was gonna use it on the Porsche just because it's a black car and there are light scratches so I figured I'd air on the side of caution and get a less aggressive pad and compound.

you will love the rupes. you should be able to get a lot of defects out with just the Megs 205 and MF cutting pad. porsche 996 black paint is extremely soft. some of the softest paint I've ever worked with. what are you sealing/protecting it with?

I love my Megs 105/205 combo so far. When this runs out though I'm gonna see if all the hoopla about the Mezerna equivalent has any merit for me or not.

I have the same Rupes 15. I found the black paint on my targa is really soft. It actually liked a slightly stiffer pad for the finishing than the "least aggressive" pad I had. I was using the menzerna 4500 to finish. You should see really fast results, be easy with the 105. I am pretty sure the BmW paint will be much harder than the Porsche.
