Make sure that the "bail" on the coil connectors is snapped over the "tooth" on the coil(s) or you will have cylinder missing/check engine problems.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, that's what I thought. Earlier this week I woke up to rain in the High Desert. It was a doozie down below in the LA area. One place even got 5", which was a record since the early 1900's (for Sept). Anyway, I know my C4S P-car loves the rain so I was ready to roll to work. It wasn't very long until it started missing and I got the check engine line and to drive to the mechanic. The more I tried to add power, the more it missed. I pulled over and talk to my Indy (he gave me his cell number). He calmed me down and said that I had a little water on the electrics and it would be OK. I trust his judgement explicitly. I pulled over, waited a few minutes (did my email on my iphone) and "voila" it started and the check engine light was gone. It ran fine. This happened before when I went through the COSTCO car wash and the same results. So my question is, what do I do to fix it? - Fast Frank

POST 2Original post

One or more of your coil packs are cracked and got wet.

POST 3Original post

Stay away from all auto car wash, including Costco.

auto car wash = very bad You need to give your baby a hand job

POST 5Original post

+996 on both replies. Coil packs are due for new ones, easyDIY.

POST 6Original post

I recently did coil packs (after a failure) and plugs. Mine sat out in that rain - no prob at all.

POST 7Original post

If you are going to DIY get these tools. Kobalt 24 piece kit 099198852324 and KD 61740 spark plug service kit. It will make things much easier. I was able to do mine jacked up ~2 ft, wheels off, with the mufflers on. Make sure that the "bail" on the coil connectors is snapped over the "tooth" on the coil(s) or you will have cylinder missing/check engine problems.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Found these on Amazon. $199 for a 6 pack of Napol coils. Are they usable?
