Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I found URO brand part numbers while trying to find the Porsche part. Installed in passenger side and all functions working. Porsche prices appear to have increased recently, with the passenger side for LHD with alarm now over $400 everywhere (this is the part number dealer said I needed by vin number.) Cured the window not dropping when opening, scan tool showed sensor was reading closed when door was open, now reads correctly. No more telling passenger to get out and close the door so I can put window up before shutting off car. 😀. Sorry pic of parts upside down.

So replacing the whole lock assembly fixes the indexing issue? Where did you order the parts from?

POST 3Original post

There is a micro switch in the outer door handle, inner door handle, and lock, latch mechsnism. The lock switch loses its waterproof nipple and wont tell the window to stay down. Essentially when you pull either the outer or inner handle the window should drop if those are working, once the window drops and the latch opens, that micro switch tells the window to stay down. Closing the door allows the latch micro switch to raise the window. Really a shame, since the rest of the latch is in good condition and microswitch is the only thing thats bad . This is the one that I replaced my drivers door latch with, and it is a direct fit. I will say that the red lever on the top needs to be snipped off , but thats minimal. It works well, and was $23 I will say that I made a serious error when replacing this latch with the battery connected. Upon jiggling the original latch with my hand in the door and the window up, key out the window decided that it was coming down. Nothing like a chopping window mechanism to hold your arm in the door. I got it out but I would advise disconnecting the battery before doing this.
