Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Always wanted a blue widebody 996. What do y'all think of this example?

Should I be concerned about this?
Prices for lower mileage 4s models are rapidly rising so high 30s, even low 40s seems to be the current sweet spot for well optioned/maintained 996 4s. Great to have the IMS Solution installed but who did the rebuild? Receipts available? Lapis blue is very nice. Here is your build sheet in case you don't know what all the build codes mean. This car doesn't seem to have many options, wish it had factory sports exhaust as the sound is awesome. Best of luck.

Get the receipts for the rebuild, search RL for the shop name and see if anything comes up. You can probably post the receipt here as well and get some opinions on whether you should be concerned. A rebuild in and of itself is not a reason to be concerned. As always, a PPI is your friend.
Yea, beautiful low-mileage C4S with rebuilt-engine & LN Solution... Best combo possible if done by reputable/approved shops, was it Callas Rennsport in Torrance CA by any chance? Worth looking into this one if you are serious on buying it... Cheers,
Beautiful car. The color is stunning. High end of the 996.2 na range with stock 3.6 hp. Stock exhaust note. Previously mentioned low option list. If the rebuild done right and the eyeball test and drive are good, make your offer. But also have the cha-ching meter running in your head as you price what you need/want to still do to the car to make it yours.
Regardless the price, here's what I would look for:
-rebuilder: how many engines do they build in a year? reputation?
-rebuild list: what parts did they replace (bearings, injectors?)
-how many miles since the rebuild
-how many oil changes since the rebuild (5k mi or 6mo)
-bore scoring inspection
The price demands these things are in check
Good luck. These are awesome machines good for miles and miles of smiles...
Curious to get y'all's opinion on a rebuild vs replaced engine? Is one better than other? I know there are a lot of variables involved but macro view what do you all think?
