Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I replaced the clutch slave cylinder and have just bled it with a motive pressure bleeder following the instructions on Rentech.
Leading evidence: 'Replace clutch slave cylinder and have just bled it' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace clutch slave cylinder and have just bled it' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
OP - So you had the clutch held to the floor during the bleed process and used 22 psi?
Use manual/renntech instructions and it all came together

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

That's what I did, starting with a dry system, and it worked well for me.
Hi - so this is the last thing I have left to do before I get my rebuild project on the road. I replaced the clutch slave cylinder and have just bled it with a motive pressure bleeder following the instructions on Rentech. The clutch is still going to the floor. When the clutch is Extended and I push on it about half an inch it snaps to the floor. I then have to pull it out to get it in the out position.
any other tips on where to go from here? Or what my next steps would be to determine where I have another potential failure?
OP - So you had the clutch held to the floor during the bleed process and used 22 psi? When you secured the bleed valve on the clutch slave, the pedal stayed on the floor and you had to pull the pedal back up?
Hi Guys - thanks for your replies. I got it sorted.
Seems that with my car up on jack stands, the front was tilted enough so that when I pressure bled it the first time and ran out of fluid that the inlet sucked air. I started over using the manual/Renntech instructions and it all came together.
Tips for those that might come across this thread in the future.
1. You must use a pressure bleeder. Get one by Motive with the euro cap adapter for about $50 through Amazon.
2. Make sure the car is level
3. Make sure the fluid reservoir is topped off and that you have more than half a liter in the pressure bleeder bottle.
I just did this job last month. I didn't use a power bleeder and I had the front of the car higher by about 6". Having the front of the car higher allows the air left in the cylinder to move forward to the highest point, at the bleed valve. I did need to move the pedal by hand a few times with the bleed valve open to clear the line, then my wife took over while I was underneath. Probably the easiest bleed of a slave cylinder I've ever done, about 10 minutes (but it's been a couple of decades, so who knows
).

I've done it the old fashioned way, without a pressure bleeder (which I didn't have at the time)... It takes a long time (seemed like forever) and it's a two person job... The moral of the story is Get a pressure bleeder if you don't have one yet...
Porsche says to hold the clutch pedal to the floor and use a pressure bleeder. The thinking is to minimize the dead space in the master. That's what I did, starting with a dry system, and it worked well for me.
