Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I wonder if anyone can help me. I seem to have a failed Crankshaft positioning sensor. My car started to restrict revs above 4500 and then when running it on my drive, stopped and would not restart until it had cooled. I have a PO335 Current fault and PO336 Pending fault. I removed the left wheel, removed the electrical connection, and the single torx bolt holding the sensor in place. However, I can not get the sensor to budge. Has anyone else had this issue? if so how did they remove the sensor? Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

Marcus, We took one off a blown up Boxster engine this winter. They stick amazingly tight. Since the sensor is being replaced anyway, the only method we found was a little penetrating oil and gently pry and twist, over and over and it eventually came out, but not without a fight.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you mate. Ok, so it seems exactly as I thought, just a lot of perseverance. I can't really get to it very well, i'll have to try and think up a cunning plan.

POST 4Original post

I destroyed mine trying to remove it during a rebuild. Like they press fir them in at the factory or something. You may get it in pieces.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, I've had another go at it, and I've got it moving, it's still not out yet. I've made some progress.. Unfortunately my girlfriend was giving me daggers as she'd been sat there staring at me for an hour... and that was an hour after she'd got bored of watching videos on Tik-Tok.. I thought I better carry on tomorrow.
