Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

The Durametric can do a "Short Test" and check every module for error codes.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I do not have a Durametric or equivalent for reading the mysteries of my 996.2 (2004). My indy has offered free(?) time and asked what numbers I wanted. Based on the depth of knowledge exhibited among this forum members, there has to be something published in the archives. I would like to know the DME values, (hrs, rpm excursions), cam deviation values, etc. Which values do you feel are a must see and what are the ranges of each. The indy has been very generous and I do not want to tie up a mechanic to satisfy my own curiosity. I have been using the Fusion software with an OBDII device. A more in-depth set up is a possibility. Talking Thanks, David

POST 2Original post

I recently acquired a Durametric Pro. There's a Jake Raby video around where he shows how to get basic info as well as monitoring live data. Well worth the watch. The Durametric can do a "Short Test" and check every module for error codes. It's also one click to see DME information such as operating hours, over rev info, and odometer reading (that's on 997), on my 996 is shows Ignitions in ranges 1 and 2, operating hours and other vehicle ID info. Ready Status shows Catalytic converter/O2 sensor, and other Pass/Fail Info. What mysteries are you searching for answers to?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Basically looking for opinions on those items that the "experts" deem preventative knowledge, i.e cam deviation numbers. Short list versus a long, extended list.

POST 5Original post

i'm confident those more knowledgeable than me will opine, good luck
