Suggestion

It seems the dealerships don't want to pay the big money to use their own body shops when a new floor model gets a ding.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This was there when I bought my 4s last year. Always annoyed me. Not anymore!! Backed out of garage last year and someone left a little red wagon directly behind me. Wasnt going to pay for a complete respray and the result is totally acceptable.

Previous owner left this nasty mark on passenger door. Detailer touched it up as best he could. Not a concours car, good enough for me.

POST 6Original post

Great work! Makes a world of difference having those little dings and blemishes fixed up. I have a friend who does that kind of repair for the local new car dealerships and he has transformed my car, all of the small nicks and dings have magically disappeared. It seems the dealerships don't want to pay the big money to use their own body shops when a new floor model gets a ding. I've since learned that there is a surprisingly large number of new cars getting dings and dents every day.

POST 7Original post

Looks great! Huge improvement. I need to find a guy that can do this type of work. Mike

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I would imagine most higher end detailing shops have freelancers for both paint touch ups and minor dings and dents. I dont think it added more that $100 to my total to have the paint touched up and the one small crease fixed. $200 for all 4 rims and calipers to be ceramic coated i think was more than fair and i look forward to easier removal of dreaded brake dust. New tires, refinished rims, detailed....it looks new, not 17 years old. Stay safe

POST 9Original post

That is nice work. Don't you just hate what previous owners do to your car?
