Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi folks, I'd love some advice here. I took a test drive in a stunning 996 today. One owner, 43,000 miles. Only flaw I found are about five small paint bubbles on the rear wing (it has an aero kit). Any idea what this will cost to repair? I am in the Southern California area. I am thinking the wing is made of fiberglass, not metal, so hopefully this isn't rust related? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Hard to say without pics. Is it the Guards Red one in Newport Beach?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes it is! I tried to take pics but it was impossible for them to show up really. My brother tells me it can't be rust because the material is a composite. I've asked them to hold the car and get a quote from the body shop they are affiliated with next door.

POST 4Original post

A red aero 996....buy it! Who cares about a couple paint bubbles. If the car is otherwise clean and solid, and priced right, its a no brainer. A red aero PCar is about as good as it gets. 👍

POST 5Original post

Hard to tell without seeing it but I would budget around $1000 for good, quality bodywork. Every time I've had bodywork it is between $500-$1000.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
