However, since changing out the ignition switch, these problems have disappeared, and as a bonus, the car "seems" to run smoother.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'd read on someone's post that if they left the car for say 10 days, the battery goes flat. Another poster said his experience was the opposite of that. I did experience low battery problems and had to keep the car on a slow charger. However, since changing out the ignition switch, these problems have disappeared, and as a bonus, the car "seems" to run smoother. The improved running might just be me but the low battery problems were real. Had to have been leakage across terminals as the switch was failing.

POST 2Original post

It Sounds like you had a drain tied to the faulty ignition. No battery goes flat in 10 days unless there is a fault somewhere. Glad you found the problem!

POST 3Original post

Always lock the car when you are not with in. It takes less from the battery locked that it does to keep the car unlocked. After 5 days the car goes into a 'sleep mode' where you have to awaken it finally via the key in the door method.
