Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've run a few track days with 94 or 95db restrictions in my stock engine 996 with pfister exhaust, but Laguna was 90db a week ago... Anyone have their pfister car actually measured at the track, or do I need to kluge together some kind of supertrapp exhaust tips?

POST 2Original post

I can tell you that the bypass pipes are 99.7db...

I thought these were jokes initially but peeps have actually had to resort to this at Laguna.

POST 4Original post

WTF are there sound restrictions at race tracks?

POST 5Original post

Quotes source post: 11609089

If you search for Laguna on Google earth you will see houses not far away. Pretty sure that is why. Whether that makes sense is another issue.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 11609136

Yeah, they built/bought near a racetrack, and then complain about the noise...

POST 7Original post

I run fister's and high flow cats with Brombacher x pipe, and I run at Lime Rock aith an 88db limit.......no issues. You must also take into account, foliage, clouds, high/low pressure systems when it comes to them measuring. Once day fine, one day maybe not...... in my case I haven't been black flagged............yet.

POST 8Original post

I have the fister cans and I failed at a 90Db day at Laguna last year.

POST 9Original post

What happened to "if it's too loud you're too old?"

POST 10Original post

Quotes source post: 11609568

We had that happen here a few years ago but the track owner said, "Fine I'll just shut it down and build it elsewhere." The city backed off and the homeowners cried foul. But everyone seems to be coexisting now. The homes have been built in the last 10 years or so, the track has been there at least 40+ years but they were going to open a dragstrip closer to the homes which is why there was controversy.

POST 11Original post

Happens at pretty much every racetrack (and airport) that gets encroached on by urban sprawl.... Some shut down, some impose restrictions, some (few) win the fight.
