Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Thanks, got it swapped from above, did manage to lose the crow foot in there somewhere..
Leading evidence: 'Replace from above, did manage' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check every day' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I just had the same problem in my 2004, I replaced the pressure sensor and all is fine now.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
When the engine are hot, I get this warning when it revs back to idle, and the it disappears
I have new oil Mobil 1 , 0w40 (will it be better with 5w40 as porsche recommends nowadays to older cars?
Oil level are ok, checking every day.
Overall the engine feels good.
Here is the status of pressure and idle when the engine is cold.
Looks ok?
This is after driving "not to aggressive" for 10 min:
As soon as I hti the throttle the pressure instant increases.
Below are after a few minuutes of aggresive driving (not to crazy)
As before, as soon as I rev the warning disappears.
Below is a movie:

I might also consider replacing the pressure sensor. It takes 10 minutes with a thin crows foot wrench 17mm if i recall. Cheap part, insurance.
I had erratic readings for a while, replacing the sensor brought them back into expected range.
If I have the ac off and exit a highway in hot weather I get the same thing. With the ac on it never happens because idle is slightly higher. I use 5w-40 dt-40 FWIW.
My understanding is the first number in the 5W 40W applies to the cold temperature weight. The 40 is the weight at high temperature.
Before doing anything expensive, replace the sensor as others have suggested. If that doesn't resolve the problem, a 50W oil might be a better solution, but this is probably telling you that the oil pump is not a spring chicken any more.
Lastly, is your idle too low? Can't tell from the video, but it looks a little low, but my engine is different than yours. Others can comment.
Be Careful!
I hope its an electrical wiring or sensor issue, because if not than it could be the beginning sign of engine wear.
Unfortunately, you should also send an oil sample to get analyzed to make sure there isnt excessive bearing material in the oil. If you just switched oil weight than SWITCH back (or pick the thicker oil weight)! Don't drive on it like that!
You get decreased oil pressure when rod or main bearings wear out & the gap between the journal and the gap gets wider. As it gets wider more oil shoots out of that bigger gap. That drops oil pressure and gives that message on the dash at low rpm at first. That lower pressure in turn will wear the bearing wear thinner, making the gap wider, more oil seeping, more accelerated wear, eventually spinning a bearing and ruining the motor.
were you able to replace the sensor in your 2004 from above, or below the engine? Im looking at the sensor in my 2004 and from above seems pretty busy
thanks,
-Eric

I did from above, it was not bad. A 19mm crowfoot is needed though. I used a socket and a few extensions. The 2 wires on the sensor are different sizes and only go on the correct way. It really is a 10-15 minute job.
Thanks, got it swapped from above, did manage to lose the crow foot in there somewhere.. need to go back in with a flashlight and a mirror. BUT I do have 0 pressure with the engine off now.

I agree with folks advocating using 50w oil, checking for metal, doing an oil sample, and potentially replace the sender.
Just going from M1 40w to a thicker, different brand 40w oil may only increase oil pressure by .125 bar, not enough, IMO.
