I use a "ST-AIN " gas with stainless wire in my mig, as long as everything is clean and you keep the gas flow up it welds pretty good.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello everyone. I purchased this car a few months ago. It's a 1999. Can you help me identify this exhaust? A slight encounter with a tire wall ripped that flex piece, and now the whole tail pipe is sagging. I'm thinking it would be easiest to just replace that piece if I can find it. ... and yes I know my cords are showing.

POST 2Original post

I think you can just go to an exhaust shop and they will weld a new one on. Nice ride!

POST 3Original post

Definitely a custom job. Would love to see more pics of the car.

POST 4Original post

Ajw, sorry to hear about the tire wall encounter. Don't recognize the exhaust, but interested in finding out who made it as well. From your pictures, it looks like there is plenty of room in the muffler area to run an oil cooler. This exhaust design is something we need in the 996 market. Tell us more about your 996.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, everyone. I'll pull that tailpipe off and get it welded. This is the car: https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1342486

I'm lobbying Soul Performance to build a center exhaust. Need to find a company to make a bumper add-on. like RPM Technik does.

POST 7Original post

Very nice! Motorworks Racing in GA may have the answer on the exhaust since they originally built the car. I know Eurosport Racing in IL very well. They are my local shop. They have two locations. One at at the Autohahn racetrack/club and one in Bensonville. Let me know if you need any help with them. I would be more than happy to reach out to them if Motorworks didn't build it.

POST 8Original post

The flex pieces can be bought on line, all are stainless.. you cut the old one out, weld the new one in.. I use a "ST-AIN " gas with stainless wire in my mig, as long as everything is clean and you keep the gas flow up it welds pretty good.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
