Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
It will allow you to do the same analysis as silicone based lubricant but will evaporate without any cleaning effort.
Leading evidence: 'Clean effort' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean effort' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

You can also retorque all the bolts / suspension pieces and inspect individually - make sure to have the suspension preloaded when tightening.

I just knew not to use petroleum based on rubber, but I like the soapy water even better because it won't leave a mess on the garage floor.

You can lube and use a prybar to see if there is anything of concern you can spot.

I wouldnt use silicone grease as it is very hard to remove and you actually don't want relative movement between ARB, rubber bush and/or its bracket but instead the rubber bush should twist whilst firmly attached to both ARB surface and bracket as only then it will be noiseless forever.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

First diagnose what it is.....
You can try to rent or buy chassis ears and attached and see where it is coming from.
Option 2 remove the wheel and is if you see anything of concern. You can lube and use a prybar to see if there is anything of concern you can spot. You can also retorque all the bolts / suspension pieces and inspect individually - make sure to have the suspension preloaded when tightening.
A lot of times wear on 996/7 platform is :
-sway bar bushings
-sway bar endlinks - you can disconnect both and see if goes away
-upper strut mounts
-rubber around springs/strutmount
-balljoint (part of the coffin arm)
-forward arm (has a front busing)
-upper control arms
Agree with 997akj. Easy first step is to locate the sway bar bushings, which you can do without jacking up the car and squirt some silicone based grease in there. Cheap and easy to check. After that, try the drop links, accessible with wheel removed. If you have the original sway bar bushings, certainly add them to the list to be replaced in any case.
All possible causes have been given above and then some.
In my experience worn sway bar endlinks, the balljoint at the outer end of the coffin arm as well as in the forward arm (contrary to above it has no bushing, apart from that dangerous product by EPS) don't squeak but cause a knocking or rattling noise (on Belgian pave typically) whereas worn bushes do indeed squeak.

Instead use water with a little dish washing liquid in order to lower its surface tension. It will allow you to do the same analysis as silicone based lubricant but will evaporate without any cleaning effort.
However, for the (front) top mounts there is a porsche approved grease that is intended to prevent squeaking noises and there is a TSB on where exactly on the top mount to apply it. I'm afraid I don't have it though...
Thanks for the caution on the silicone. I just knew not to use petroleum based on rubber, but I like the soapy water even better because it won't leave a mess on the garage floor.
