I've disconnected the power steering lines before which use the same crazy tight connectors.

I am using a flare line wrench on the BLUE hard line side and a quality open wrench on the rubber hose end side, cant get a flare wrench to go on that side.

how to you replace the clutch line #9 on the diagram, do you need to replace the 2 fittings as well or can be reused.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
RE:996
I am trying to remove and replace my clutch hose line that is connected to the slave and the hard line. I tried to use two 15 mm wrenches one of which is a flare wrench. With much force I tried to loosen the union, but no luck, I'm afraid that if I try too hard I may strip the brass fittings.
Any suggestions?
Thanks "dcdrechsel" when you mean "slightly off parallel and squeezed" are you meaning the two wrench positions are about a quarter flat turn apart, then squeezed as if you were turning the two wrenches together or crossing action? Sort of doesn't make sense in the turn action, eg...lefty loosey.
Is the center cylinder part between the unions male or female threads?

I used regular wrenches -and yes about a quarter turn apart .Female on the flex hose side .The longer the wrench the more leverage -they are pretty stout fittings but the wrench must be facing the correct way .
I've disconnected the power steering lines before which use the same crazy tight connectors. You need a flare wrench on BOTH sides to get enough torque and grip.
Maybe try another flare wrench, or a flare wrench crow foot, or mod the flare wrench to fit. No way you can open that with an open wrench on one side.
Edit: I see from your pic now it seems impossible to get a flare wrench on the black hose side. I guess you just need more leverage and make sure the open end wrench doesn't slip.
Thanks for your response's.
Please clarify the turning direction of the two wrenches to break open the fitting?
Squeeze together to become in-line/slightly parellel with each other eg... turn to 12 and 12 o'clock?
or
Turn away from each other eg... 6 and 12 o'clock?
Both are normal thread so each one counterclockwise. So if you put both wrenches at 7 o'clock when facing each of the nuts, they should have 2 hours of separation and pulling together should be loosening both sides.
how to you replace the clutch line #9 on the diagram, do you need to replace the 2 fittings as well or can be reused. line split under car just behind drivers side wheel, not in wheel well.fluid sprays out when clutch is depressed, will not return to out position.
