Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

It definitely didn't feel like the official way, but it worked.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone had luck replacing the screw in the convertible top shell motor? I have stripped a screw on one motor (see the picture, not working so play motor) and broke it right off on the other one (the one that's working in the car right now) I purchase repair kit 996 561 673 00 but have no idea how to start replacing it. I took off the screws on the motor but it dosn't come apart. and I can't get the blue part apart either. 996 561 673 00 996.561.673.00

POST 2Original post

I figured it out. It definitely didn't feel like the official way, but it worked. The thick cylindrical metal thing you insert the hex key into to manually actuate the motor, on mine, I turned it too much and that cylinder fell off completely exposing just a snapped thread. Next, I gripped the square piece that you'll see as soon as the thick cylindrical piece has snapped of with needle nose pinchers and turned, then the bolt through the middle of the blue piece flipped through to the other side. Turn the black split washer a little, then pull it off with the needle nose pinchers, then a spring will follow. Then you can slide the bar out. Almost a decade too late, but replying just in case someone else has this problem.
