Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used a small (~11") pry bar and used that knuckle as a support and pushed that hub carefully.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yet another eh.. question. This is from ''99 Tip if that makes any difference. Took the bolts off and though that flex plate should just come out... well, no. Since it's quite flexible like its name suggests what's the proper way to get that off. It doesn't move if I try to pull from the center/sides. Does that brass like round metal piece in the center play any role here or should that plate just come out by twisting & pulling?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Could that be an issue with corrosion. If those parts are connected from that center piece maybe there's corrosion between those edges. Quick googling....

POST 3Original post

Yes its just some corrosion or oxidation at the hub. Maybe some heat but not alot will looses it up or penitrating oil too. Light taps witg a plastic mallet in the hub area may help too.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok, got it off. Depending how's your engine oriented well ... just on the opposite side of IMS bearing (on top of the engine) there a kind of a knuckle. I used a small (~11") pry bar and used that knuckle as a support and pushed that hub carefully. It started to move and I just continued to work from there. Looks like it's not about corrosion or oxidation - it's just a tight fit and you need pull/push that directly and carefully back and forth.
