Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This is a bit early as I just ordered that Porsche style engine stand/yoke to make my life a bit easier. The question is - I have dowel pins on both sides / banks on that bell housing. Are those easily removable - new product Id is - probably - 014301153B (?). How tightly those are pressed in? Are those reusable or do I need to order new ones? My bank 1 side looks like this (not mine but the same): And my bank 2 is this:

POST 2Original post

Those little dowels are easily removable with some heat, vise grip, and a little hammering. Clean them up and they can be reused again.

POST 3Original post

I had to use heat and strong channel locks/vice grips on a few of them. Most came out easily. I had ordered a couple ahead of time because they are pretty cheap but I agree they aren't too hard to clean up if you gouge them taking out (if you want to spend the time to do it vs. buying a few new ones).

POST 4Original post

Or take a die grinder or drill bit to the engine stand mounting hole for that position.
