Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suspected cause
I dont know the solutions but for any given naturally aspirated engine; Id be highly suspect of a company that tried to offer anything other than a single tune.

Thought chipping was replaced by software that you download a decade back?

There is only so much you can change fuel and timing on a non turbo charged engine; right?
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

ok . so l committed a cardinal sin l bought and fitted a performance chip . plugged it in as per factory recommendations. . lt stated that l needed to complete 150 Mile's in order for the. chip to operate fully. so l tooke my car out to put some Miles onit and the inevitable happened a serious loss of power and a serious rattle. happened anyone had any nighmares with these chips. lts a stage 3 chip from Company called thorton . its showing misfire codes on cylinder 1. and rattling like a bag of spanners. but lmproved once l cleared the codes. would love to know ur stories. as l need to claim ftom these chip manufacturers. thanks for your help. guys.
Sorry to hear— Maybe ask for a refund as well, I’m also not familiar with Thornton. I’d highly recommended EVOMS software for our cars. Don’t know if you’re working with any mods, but when adding a tune, youll gain the most with free flowing exhaust (200 cell cats/cat less) and also match the intake side, GT3 throttle body ipd plenum.) Hope you get your issues resolved OP
Definitely a scam.

But good news might be that they seem to literally do nothing.
So your issues might be unrelated and coincidental.
ok . so l committed a cardinal sin l bought and fitted a performance chip . plugged it in as per factory recommendations -
what factory recommendations? So Porsche made a performance chip that you can "plug in" to your 996 for performance? Huh......
This guy asked about chips before, were told they were total bs, and bought one anyway. He also would like to add 20s to his 996. I think i know all i need to know at this point

either way, I wouldnt think that even 100 miles with some faulty tuning would cause damage that wasnt already popping up.
