Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm dry-fitting a new Momo Prototipo steering wheel in my '99 C4, and ran into an unexpected problem. Here's my view in my normal seating position: This photo is pretty close to what I see...I can't see the top of any of the gauges! I don't care for this at all- shouldn't have to duck to see what the oil pressure is. I knew the wheel was smaller diameter but this was a surprise since I haven't seen anyone else complain about this. I'm not tall, but I'm not a midget either- 5'8". I tried moving the seat around a bit- back and forth a notch or two, and elevating/down. I usually have the seat all the way close to the floor so no help there. This is with the Momo 7004 hub. Anybody else run into this? Pretty bummed because I really love the finish of the wheel and how it looks in the car. Charley

POST 2Original post

Yes it does obscure the gauges a bit. You get use to it. If youre starring at your gauges that much, well you might want a Mezger.😎

Mezger...would if I could! :-) I mean, I get what you're saying, but I basically have zero visibility to oil pressure (can just barely see 1 bar), nothing for water temp, and very little for voltage. I love the looks of the clocks on the 996...plus I have a deeply ingrained habit of the "scan"...road ahead, left, right, behind, gauges. This habit from riding motorcycles and other "things".

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think it looks pretty good though.

POST 5Original post

They make an eccentric spacer that moves it up 2cm for this reason.
