Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got the intake manifolds off & am doing AOS, Secondary Air, & Injectors. I polished all the bolts & have a question about Loctite. Where does Porsche recommend using blue Loctite? I see it on a lot of bolts, but not the intake manifold ones. I am inclined to put it everywhere. What do you do? Thx!

POST 2Original post

As long as it doesn't run through a water jacket, I put a dab of blue loctite on pretty much everything. I am not a professional mechanic or even an unprofessional one, just some guy so take it FWIW

POST 3Original post

Those bolts are pretty low strength and torque. There was no locking fluid on them from the factory so i didnt use any on reassembly. If anything, I woild use the low strenght purple as it will resist vibration loosening and helps with oxidation because your polishing probably removed the factory anticorosion coating.

POST 4Original post

There is zero point in putting loctite on intake manifold bolts. Torque to spec and youre done

POST 5Original post

Shouldn't have polished them. Now all the anti corrosion coating is gone and they will rust the first time they see moisture.
