Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am in the process of replacing the clutch, it was shipping, and while i was in there I though it would be good to do the bearing. So far all is going well, Transaxle out in a little under 2 hours, and then another couple of hours (took some time to re-read the instructions) to get the bearing out. Clutch was worn down to the rivets on the PP side, fly wheel side was still ok. I have couple of quick questions that I could use some help with: 1. How well do I need to clean out the old oil in the bearing tube? What is the best way to clean it out? 2.How to I install the Spiroloc snap ring once the new bearing is installed? I've read how to do it, but it's still not clear to me? Lastly, I know it is too late, but I only pulled the two chain tensioners from the lower side of the motor. The instructions I was using said as long as the flange is easily removed, there is no need to loosen the third tensioner. Is this correct? Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to lend me!! Chris

Thanks for your reply. I was able to let the oil drain out and then used a long extension and a rag to get it cleaned out. The new LN bearing will go in tomorrow night. Hope I can get it started straight!!!

POST 4Original post

Make sure that you freeze the bearing and tool overnight makes install easier it should go in without much effort.
