A few years ago, I tried mightily to sell my 3-spoke steering wheel and airbag that was hardly used (in storage for around 9 years) and all I got was something like $40 for each.

Suggestion
Unfortunately, there trend will continue to be more wheels than airbags, for obvious reasons, so you may have better luck buying a matched set (wheel + airbag) and then selling the wheel without the cartridge (or your current wheel) to help offset the cost.

I got an airbag and wheel (3 spoke, from two different vendors - "specialized German" and someone else) in Savannah Beige for $500. Keep looking, something will come up... Good luck

I paid $525 for a 3-spoke, including the airbag cartridge, a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, there trend will continue to be more wheels than airbags, for obvious reasons, so you may have better luck buying a matched set (wheel + airbag) and then selling the wheel without the cartridge (or your current wheel) to help offset the cost. Go hunting in the Boxster forums and on Boxster sites - the 3-spoke 986 wheel should work just fine...

A few years ago, I tried mightily to sell my 3-spoke steering wheel and airbag that was hardly used (in storage for around 9 years) and all I got was something like $40 for each. I did an auction sale and got only one bid on each for the minimum bid. Someone with a 993 in Colorado got an incredible deal. Today I would be able to list it at a buy-it-now or make-offer price and just sit and wait. Back then, I was not eligible to list items that way. Oh well.
