Good info....now I can't remember what heads looked like on my calipers the 1st time I changed the rotors.

Of course, it was a great excuse to buy a set of LARGE Torx - of which I've used precisely one in the intervening 2 years.

Probably should replace (though I've reused, and lived...)
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello,
Ive got a leaking RT front caliper on my 2002 C2 Cab. I just ordered new seals and dust boots from zeckhausen, and im trying to figure out if there are any other consumables ill need for this job? For example, are there copper crush washers, etc for the hose connection? Im planning on doing this sunday afternoon and want to make sure I have everything to wrap it up then. Diagrams Ive seen don't seem to give me a clear answer.
And thanks in advance to anyone who answers, even if its just with boobies!
You may want to order some caliper rebuild grease if you don't have it. The hose connection doesn't require any washers. You can read up on reusing caliper bolts and decide if you want new ones or not. Other than that you should be all set.
I opted to replace the caliper bolts on a recent front disc swap. At the time I got a little caught out, the old factory bolts had a 10mm hex socket head but the new factory bolts had a Torx T-55 head (Which I didn't have handy on the day.). So factor that possibility into your preparation for the job.

Pete, I don't think so. I had read a couple of "How To's" before hand just to be sure I didn't need trick tools for this job and they list hex head bolts. For example from Pelicans write up:

The bolts definitely changed from hex to Torx. I too was caught out the first time the Torx-headed bolts showed up. Of course, it was a great excuse to buy a set of LARGE Torx - of which I've used precisely one in the intervening 2 years.
+1 on new caliper bolts. If you are replacing the pads as well you may want to get new dampers. I managed to reuse the old dampers last time I did the job but it wasn't worth the hassle.
Ive read that it has more to do with the anti corrosion coating on the bolt than stretch. Local dealer doesn't have them, so I may reuse the old ones until I can get new ones...
Yes, yours was one of the first articles I read that lead me down the path of getting new seals and dust boots to see if that fixes it. Unfortunately, when I looked on your site, it doesn't show that you sell the rebuild kits anymore with seals and dust boots, only dust boots. I believe the seals are causing the leak.
Why? Why would I need to rebuild both calipers if only one is leaking? Car doesn't pull, and doesn't show uneven pad or rotor wear??
I have some sylglide, assuming I can use that. Ive rebuilt brake cylinders before, and master cylinders, so assuming this should be pretty straightforward.
THANK YOU to everyone who replied; I really do appreciate it!
