Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm running straight pipes with a Supertrap set-up.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys just picked up my first Porsche and I'm coming from a straight piped bimmer. Really would like a loud exhaust to bring the 911 to life. Ive read lots of exhaust threads and was wondering what everyones opinion is on the Supercup mufflers vs NHP muffler bypass pipes.
A straight-pipe front-engine car has a LOT more pipe to muffle noise than a rear-engine - you might not like it as much on the 996. I have chambered pipes on my 'Vette, and it's still quieter than my Fister cans on the 911.
The Fister exhaust is more than adequate to fill my sound needs - any louder, and the neighbors would probably burn my house down.
There are a couple of guys who have muffler deletes and swear by it - but I can't understand how it's tolerable. I loves me some good engine noise, and I'm an idiot every time I go through a tunnel, but...
I'm running straight pipes with a Supertrap set-up. I put 6 or 8 spacers on - and it's loud, but the Supertrap quiets it enough that (knock wood) I don't get stopped, but get lots of thumbs-up and asking what I'm running. (And yes, 5CHN3LL, it's just barely tolerable!)
But on the track it's raceday nirvana!! Take off the spacers and blast - at full song, it's glorious! I've had guys in cup cars tell me how much they like the sound. But if it were strictly a street car....I'd stick with Fister...
this is the video of my supercup and i can hardly tolerate it. At some point, i will probably put back on my gundo hack exhaust

Wow, it's nice to hear people being honest about loud exhaust. Generally, folks running straight pipes will swear it's the best thing ever...all the way to the audiologist.
Both. It drones really bad for anything under 3k rpm. It kinda forces you to go fast lol
I barely hit 6th gear on the hwy anymore just because of the drone
yeah definitely! They are on my to-do list next spring since the season is almost over
I've had them on for about a year and I love them. At first they were way too loud, but now I feel like they're too quiet. I also did a back to back test with/without mufflers and I can't go back to stock.
^ This is because you have permanently damaged your hearing. I feel for you, and I'll get your GoFundMe page set up sometime soon, bruh.
Don't become a statistic. Don't do straight pipes.
lol yea maybe you're right. I feel like it might be a mix of that and the ecu adapting to not having mufflers. Either way I'm one of the guys that swears by it...They shed about 50lbs off the rear and feels a whole lot faster according to my butt dyno.
I thought it felt slower with the cans off. Not to mention anything over about 2% throttle and everyone in Jasper County thinks you're racing... and a ricer.
