Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Just saying its out there for someone who wants an already fitted option.
Leading evidence: 'Install option' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install option' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking for a tasteful lip spoiler for the 996 decklid.
I measured ~32" across the back... Inc. a very slight bend/curve at the ends.
Found this on eBay. Might work well... for something that's not specific to the 996. Dare to be different??

Sure! Tasteful would be the operative word... In my experience, when using something that isn't designed for a specific purpose (ie: designed specifically for the 996 deck lid) it'll never have the intended look (at least not without significant modification). I certainly wouldn't discourage experimentation, but I would temper your expectations as an "out of the box" solution. Good Luck, and if you decide to go for it please post photo's (and wear your thick skin suit/armor against snarky comments)
There are 996-specific versions of what youre looking for. Then you dont have to worry about fit.
Heres an example:

I appreciate the idea Kelly, but I don't love that design. Looking for more of a lip than a wing.
I really like what Singer did with the lip on the 964, perfect proportions.
Singer's design isn't really a lip... It's more like a modified or mini Ducktail. I'm sure (knowing how they work) that a ton of time & effort went into the design so that it's both functional and looks just right (it sits at the perfect angle when deployed, and looks amazing even when it isn't). There's just no way to get this effect with something that just sticks on the existing spoiler.
^^^ Nothing personal ^^^ I know you're just trying to help (you know what they say about no good deed...).
HATE
is way too kind a word for how I feel about that spoiler
It's really just a terrible design that shows a total lack of creativity and understanding of good design (whether functional or strictly aesthetic)... YUCK!!!! Ok...rant over
I have that mini little hoop spoiler and would not recommend it. It came on the car when I got it.
As to the original post; I think a lip spoiler could be cool; I think placement, execution, paint, and install would matter a lot(whatever you save in money by not buying a 996 specific piece plan to make up for in sweat and experimentation). I actually would think that something just a touch taller than what you linked to would be better than the one you posted. Be the guinea pig and report back!
No!!!
Im still cursing the previous owner who installed this on my car.
It had only 2 modifications, an aftermarket stereo with subwoofer in the front trunk and this wing.
Both really questionable decisions.
The wing was the first thing to go.
