My wife loved it and wants to buy one when the time comes to replace her Audi.

Not sure why the change of heart but now she is asking what to wear when we do it and what is the best way to ensure cleanliness after we do it...often.

Yes, we are test driving a Panamera in the morning.

My wife has no use for the 8cyl and would never fully appreciate that kind of horsepower.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After several years of marriage, I finally convinced my wife to try it. She has resisted my dirty demands for some time. She didn't feel comfortable she said. What will her friends think when they find out she did it, she asked. Not sure why the change of heart but now she is asking what to wear when we do it and what is the best way to ensure cleanliness after we do it...often. Yes, we are test driving a Panamera in the morning.
I was at a P dealer recently in Ft Myers and saw a Panamera in the showroom. Somehow - it wasn't as ugly. I asked if it had been re-designed, and was informed they flattened the rear glass which significantly reduced the "hump" (which is the one thing I can't stand along with the way the rear passenger door windows "point" to the hump in an inelegant way).
It definitely looks better than before.
We had a Panamera hybrid as a loaner for almost 2 weeks last summer and I enjoyed driving it. They have grown on me.....but not quite to the point of wanting to own one.
I'll be interested in your review.
Have fun. They are nice rides. They look goof in person but they don't seem to photograph well. I am trying to convince my wife to downsize from her q7 to one. The best part is when shopping for the wife she is happy with the 6 instead of the turboS. The CPO ones are a bargain.
To me, it's the perception that it's a four door 911, and when the proportions of the two door are just right, a four door version would make it appear to be just an oversized/bloated 2 door.
It's a BIG car... I'd take one, but maybe not so much now with the Macan as an option.
Well, I never thought I'd consider a Cayenne. I remember seeing one in 2004 the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart (Zuffenhausen) when they first came out and thinking just how utterly stupid the whole idea was, not to mention kinda fugly. But, now, as soon as the right pre-owned Cayenne Turbo comes along, I'll be in on it. So, I guess I can't really laugh too much.
Hmmm, do they make the Panamera in Guards Red?
Not to get flamed here, but have you checked out a Quattroporte? I fell in LOVE with the one we had back in 2008. Make sure you are looking at 08 and up to get the ZF transmission. I dare say, that was one of the best all around drivers cars I have ever had seat time in. (and you can fit 5 people in it unlike the Panamera).
Well, a day at the Porsche dealership went well. We weren't prepared to buy today. I just wanted Mrs. Gator to get some seat time in the car to see if it was to her liking. She loved it and so did I. The car is such a weird thing. It's actually pretty luxurious inside with all the modern toys yet under the hood, Porsche power.
We drove a 14 turbo and a 13 6cyl and a hybrid supercharged 6cyl. The turbo was insanely quick. Perfect for me but waaaay too much power for her. The hybrid was cool but not really our thing. We both still enjoy destroying the environment. So, the 6cyl was a good fit. The PDK is the *****!
The one we were focusing on was a yachting blue. Looked good online but in person it was sorta purple. Didn't dig it. They are getting a 2013 Panamera 4 in on Monday in a deep silver. It actually has more options like PASM, adaptive steering, sport plus, etc. so, they are going to get it all prepped and we will go back Saturday and see what we can do.
I will post pics if we get it.
I want to like the Panny as they really helped the look at the refresh, but with the 2 bucket seats in back and the pseudo-trunk it just doesn't have the practicality (dogs and kid) that we need. I do love my 958 though
From what I know (and it is the same in the P!g), if Hybrids do interest you then stay away from the Hybrid and look at the eHybrids. Drastic improvements with the newer system.
The Maserati was damn near flawless for 36K miles. A couple annoyances (electrical) and a nav system that is underwhelming. Also, button placement was odd.. but where do you want the money/engineering to go, that's right.. the power train and suspension. That said, that motor and exhaust note.. I could live in a symphony of 3500-7000 rpm all day long in that car. It was so easy to drive it like you are a pro. You can hang the rear end out and never once worry about going over the edge. It was just balanced so well. I'm not a fan of the newest version, it got bloated like most newer cars tend to do. Just for giggles, Take one out for a spin while you are on the hunt for a Pana. Its a totally different beast.
Well if in live everything is about the "looks" I well never experience a lot of things in my life. As of today I never had the experience of driving a Panamera, but based on performance (not looks) is a better car than the 7 series and the Audi A7. If hybrids or electric cars are not your cup of tea, the Panamera is a great choice, for me I will jump into a Tesla without hesitation. Good luck with your Purchase. This reminds me: There was photo at the Porsche exhibit at the NC Museum of art of a bunch of white newly minted 917s in front of, what I assume is, the offices in Stuttgart. You can see a bunch of employee's car. There is VW bug, a VW 411, a ton of 911s and one lone OLDSMOBILE VISTA CRUISER. I figured some little Porsche was riding in the back thinking "This is awesome, when I grow up I'm going to make cars like this!"
