If you don't have an Indy that has one and aren't working with a dealer, then it really is a must have for when you run into issues.

Will someone be so kind as to loan me a durametric or something similar to reset the light with? I of course will pay shipping both ways and can send a deposit via Paypal if need be. I have been a member for a little over a decade to lend some credibility. Thanks.
I sort of doubt that anyone is going to give away 1 of only 3 VINs for the cost of shipping alone. I would guess that VIN will cost a minimum of $100.
It would probably cost about the same to either find one used or have the dealer shut it off.
For a quick and easy solution pull out your airbag warning bulb. SERIOUSLY, it's a super quick mod. DO IT! On the first try it'll probably take you 5 minutes to lift up the entire gauge cluster pod (removable with only 2 screws, a plug, and a few plastic trim pieces) and another minute to remove the bulb; after that you can do it in half the time.

The only problem with this is that I still get the error whenever i start the car on the display panel...and I have to acknowledge it with one of the sticks on the column.
Someone with a Durametric Pro could help.....those can handle an unlimited # of VIN's. Or head to an indy. Last time my airbag light came on was when I was changing seats and forgot the "keep the car key 10' away" rule. I called the dealer to explain the issue and said it should take them 5 minutes to do a reset. They wanted me to schedule an appt because were booked for 2 weeks. That day I bought the Durametric Enthusiast version have not been back to the dealer. Money well spent.
Just find a local Porsche Indy. They should have one and probably won't charge more than you are looking paying for shipping.
