As for the stock shifter the issue is moot since I searched for it, then remembered I tossed it when I cleaned out the garage last year.
Leading evidence: 'moot since i searched' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'moot since i searched' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace (new = < 1000 mi.)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I never thought I would ever sell this car but I just purchased a 2014 370Z Nismo and the 996 sits in the garage most of the time. I decided it's pointless to have it just to have it so I decided to offer it to someone else who has always wanted to own a Porsche at a reasonable price. The best part is all the major maintenance and upgrades are done and this car should be good to go for another 50k miles!
For Rennlisters only: If I don't have to haggle over the price I will include at no additional cost:
Durametric Diagnostic tool Enthusiast Option II (cables for 996 and 944)
H&R Sport Lowering springs (new, never installed)
Stainless steel brake lines (new, never installed)
Various Porsche special tools and spare parts
996 Essential Companion
Bentley Workshop Manual
101 Projects for your 996
Heatshield custom fit sun shade

Considering your car is very stock like, it could help if you install a regular shifter as it might not scare away potential buyers. That's the only thing I see that can turn someone away. Otherwise, great car and someone is going to be getting a good deal considering how much maintenance you've already done on this thing. It should be a buy and drive affair for the next lucky owner. GLWS
If someone is scared away by a better (different?) shifter than the original, well they're in for a rude awakening, should they purchase any Porsche.
Still, I have it if they want it and they are welcome to install it although I can't imagine them wanting to keep it.
I agree and personally I would rather have the ssk but I also try to think of the general population and what one may or may not think when selling things of this nature.
I doubt your Rennlist audience cares about the shifter, but for the sake of other places you may be advertising your car, you might want to change it back to stock, then sell your B&M shifter. Function aside, that thing looks seriously out of place in the 996 interior (fugly), and might raise questions about how the car was treated on the track.
Just my opinion. GLWS!
Looks nice! There might be cheaper cars out there, but they will need thousands in deferred maintenance. Buy this one and get the nicer car for the same price in the long run!
That was my thought also ... if I saw that shifter I'd be wondering about track use. As counter intuitive as it might sound, I'd swap the 996 shifter back in (or get a cheap 997 shifter off eBay as a low cost upgrade ) and sell the B&M.
But, as Dennis Miller used to say, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. Overall this is a really nice car at a good price ... GLWS.
Probably a good point about track use. I've never taken it to the track so I should say so in the ad. As for the stock shifter the issue is moot since I searched for it, then remembered I tossed it when I cleaned out the garage last year. Whoops...
