Thanks : I guess the difference between that and P234 is that you have to tighten the bolts the same rate (e.g. 1/4 turn each at a time). I went ahead and bought P234 just to be on the safe side, but thanks for the note.

Correction : I realized P234 is not for 996. For the record, 9699 and 9699/2 seem to the right ones for the new PTFE seal (which are ~$600!) , so looks like I'll be buying the one @TexSquirrel recommended on Amazon.

P234 sounds like a Sir Tools part number. The 9699 and 9699/2 sounds familiar. (Definitely Porsche tool number) I knew those used to run $550, but some people only want Porsche supplied tools. The high cost of the “Porsche” tools is why people made 3D printed and PVC versions. I purchased 2 3D printed versions before my son bought his 3D printer. they were fine for a few uses. But now I own the aluminum version. It’s a great quality choice that will outlast the 3D printed versions.
