Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
It looked like a carbon filter judging by the colour of the pleats on the "clean" side.
Leading evidence: 'Clean " side' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean " side' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Next on my list...replace fuel filter, replace the serpentine belt, and clean my MAF, and toss in a new air filter.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I finally ordered an assortment of odds and ends I needed for my 911, that came in on Thurs. from AutohausAZ. Two new wipers to replace the dry, noisy blades. A new cabin/pollen filter, the one I took out was pretty dirty. Last, a new parking light bulb(driver's side) that has been burnt out since I bought the Porsche in Sept. 06'. In all I'd say a leisurely 2 beer job, and not as hard as an IMS bearing replacement. Next on my list...replace fuel filter, replace the serpentine belt, and clean my MAF, and toss in a new air filter. It still feels good to show my Porsche some love now and then.
the "wee bit" is at least 1/2 a beer
then tackling the wipers!! all in the same day !!!
What? No pics????
<busting your *****>
I just copied this off the weather underground....
gonna be a BEAUTIFUL weekend
SEE - today forecast..... WARMER than yesterday
Yeah it's warmer for us here too. Yesterday was 75.......burrr. I had to wear flip flops. Today I can change the RMS barefoot. I need to find a more temperate climate....
I was talking to the parts guy at Sunset and he said it was raining up there and he wanted to do some work on his cars and bikes.... I told him he didn't want to know what it was like here now. Figured I'd tell you though.
GAWD, I cant believe they use the word "Pleasant" in a forecast!!
I have never seen that! - in Seattle we have 182 ways to say Rainy and Cold...if we had all those sunny things the weather guys would be warning us about the dangers of drying out! - they have to remind people not to look at it even though it's "pretty"
Yea, add one T25 torx screw and a plastic thumb screw. But you still have to pull out the old filter, and put in the new. I recall about 4 sips of beer.
I've been tempted to go to a carbon air filter. Isn't there a difference in hooking up the carbon filter?
The weather here is so tough this weekend
I'm sure some know the same old report they put out here.
Trade winds and maka showers.
Hey - I just did parking light bulbs and a pollen filter in my car too! I didn't think to have a beer while doing it though
The pollen filterthat came out was really grungy. It looked like a carbon filter judging by the colour of the pleats on the "clean" side. They are interchangeable from what I could see.
On the side marker lights...Pelican only sells white bulbs for this application, no orange bulbs. They are pretty bright now. I guess it's ok...I don't really get to see them much because I'm mostly in the car when they are on.
Weather wise we are a lot like Seattle...only a bit colder and wetter. I wouldn't have it any other way myself. Too much sun makes me uncomfortable.
yesterday was about 50 and rained damn near all day - dogs are wet and stink, grass it wet and tall, all the wlks have a muck on them, - I am 43 and born right here, never moved... but I am getting closer to being done with this rain
the aircooled car like it though, I was out in the thick of it and I always said the 996 was "fun to drive oon nice days, and more fun on rotten days" - the 86' does not disapoint in that aspect of a P-car, what a weapon for the foul weather!!
I dont have a cabin air filter either.... how would you get that "special smell" insid ethe car with a filter
I used to live in the snow and it was fun when the snow first came but when spring rolls around and the brown slush appears and the lawns look like crap and everything is soggy. That always sucked.
I was trying to explain this to my son tweo days ago who has only lived in Arizona and California. He thinks living in snow would be great. Yeah maybe in Whistler or Lake Lousie but not in Calgary or Toronto or Rochester where it just ends up gray and wet. He's got it good and doesn;t know it.
50 deg. at the end of May? Alrighty then...... Seattle is very nice with the right weather, however. If I want to go to the wilderness or camping, real wilderness and real camping with streams and lakes and junk, It's at least a 4hrs away. That sucks.
OK but the 1 day every 2 months ya go camping "sucks" for the 4 hr drive... what about the everyday drive to work, walk at lunch and drive home in the crap !
I dont want hot and dried out... but come on - 50 in June!
BTW - a little known fact about a true Seattleite...., we have a very small window of what we call good weather... somewhere between 68 and 72 - partly cloudy works good, any colder and we bitch its too damn cold, any warmer and we complain about the damn heat wave
And a beautiful day at that. I've hit the pool up the last 3 days in a row. If only I had a boat...
And to try and stay on topic...yeah, my cabin air filter is a disaster. I'm still trying to take care of everything the PO neglected.
Yep, it's black.
Yesterday we spent several hours on my boat...sometimes it's hard to drive my Porsche. We saw 2 tall ships come in, the Lynx and the Bounty. They're in Porstmouth until Monday.
