This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My friend's 02 C4S and my 02C2 were a few dozen units apart on the line. He's not thrilled with his 'base' heated seats, and claims to much prefer the 'supple leather' 'comfort seats' in my car. Anyone know whether it's the suppleness, the cushion density, and/or the contours of the seat itself making the difference my (generally sober, not-prone-to-complaint) friend claims to feel?

POST 3Original post

Can get a set here in Australia from the wreckers for around $2000 USD in full leather including electrics and air bag (even though i don't need the air bag). I sat in friends car the other week and they provide a great blend in comfort and great in holding you in with some spirited driving. I dont think they look out of place in the turbo, similar to say a Recaro CS. Thought someone out there had tried fitting them in.

POST 4Original post

supple leather has the tufts: "regular" is flat and perforated I think supple leather was around $450 or so to option

POST 5Original post

Looking at the parts diagram, the base from appears to be the same, standard or comfort, but the centre insert is different. Mine has comfort seat option and these centre panels definitely feel more pliable than the standard seats in friend’s cars. parts diagram

POST 6Original post

The seats themselves are the same, just the inserts are different. The standard perforated leather tends to get more slippery/burnished over time while the draped leather not so much. While the 996 seats arent bad, they dont have very much lateral support. If its lateral support youre looking for, there are all sorts of upgrades. If youre looking to stay in Porsche land; 996 Hardback Sport Seats, 997 HBSS (Which are even better), GT3 Seats. If youre willing to go aftermarket, options abound...
