Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Nice wheels! It looks like there's excessive negative camber, did u have it aligned yet? Numbers?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source posts: 13025896, 13025904, 13025924

Thanks fellas. Aligned and corner balanced. -1.5 F, -1.8 R. Not excessive at all - it could even benefit from more.

POST 6Original post

And don't forget an upgrade to oil lubrication.....great suspension+ sticky tires = no fun if your oil stays at one side under G's. I know first hand.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well aware, but thanks for the heads up! This car won't be seeing track duty, but I bought an FVD deep sump for peace of mind - the Rennlist phobia got the best of me.

POST 8Original post

I agree with the phobia but the deep dump was a smart move......besides that piece of machined alum is art!

POST 9Original post

I too, have peace of mind with a deep dump. Are you going to DD with the toyos?

POST 10Original post

**** I really wish I didn't see this! This car looks perfect! In my color no less... Ugh.

POST 11Original post

great stance...awesome color on 996 and wheels!

POST 12Original post

Handsome car and just the right mods. What made you opt for 888s if the car being used on street only? I ran nt-01s for dual purpose for a few years. Switched to ado8r... end of last year. Good compromise I think. Too much rain in my area for worn r comps. Enjoy it!

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

An absolute pain to get lined up properly, but agreed! I only drive the car two/three times per week, but yes, I drive them on the street. Drove to LA and back on them last week and came to the conclusion that they're louder than my Fabspeed exhaust. Thank you guys! Thanks for the kind words. The R888 were mounted on the Kinesis when I bought them and are definitely not my first choice for a street or even track tire. Was actually planning on running AD08 next when these go kaput. What's your impression of them?

POST 15Original post

very pretty 996. c4s definitely the looker of the lot r888 not good for street intensive duty...loud n uncomfortable iffy in rain

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source posts: 13026496, 13026516

Thank you! Thanks. Can 1000% confirm your R888 statement. Emphasis on loud.

POST 17Original post

gorgeous car! How much lower could you have gone on the PSS10's did you need to do dogbones or anything else to get alignment good?

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 13026727

The fronts are nearly at the bottom of the collar; maybe 5-10mm more to go. The rears have tons of room to go lower... Well over an inch, maybe two. No dogbones, adjustable arms, etc... Stock suspension minus the PSS10's. Hopefully see you around WC sometime !

POST 20Original post

Beautiful car. Love the wheels, have the same ones in 18inch on mine.

POST 21Original post

I've been very pleased with the performance of the ad08r. Good pricing, true tire widths, just shy of r comp grip, I'd say 1.5-2 second slower a lap at HMS for me compared to nt01. Sidewalls are stiff.... They are not as quiet as your typical street tread but only noticed on long highway treks. Honestly the best dual purpose tire I've used on the 4s.

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Good taste! Good to know.

POST 23Original post

nice car and beautiful color blue - looks blue? what color is that??? i'm a silver/seal grey lover but that blue is striking

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 13066596

It's midnight blue. I love it when kept detailed and free of swirls, but damn its a labor of love... These shots show how the shade differs in any sort of lighting.
