Suggestion
I'm not sure I would have picked these wheels, but I like the way the car looks and I'm not keen to spend 3-4K to find out I like a new set even less.

I don't know if his actually are real ones or not, but his wheels are a BBS design that has been used on BMWs and Porsches for quite some time.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm thinking of a set of the fuch style OS Design II 19" wheels from wheel dynamics .
These are german made and have the classic 911 look.
Has anyone fitted these ? Any feedback ?
Did you go with ten inch or 11 inch wide rears ?
Any feed back on running 19" wheels ?
Any feed back on wheel dynamics as a company ?
You will find plenty of feedback on 19's vs 18's (just do a search)....
On another note, I have been looking at those (in 18) for a long time....I love the good ol' Fuch look
Hmm , I must have missed the part where I asked for style advice .
I'm not a big fan of the super bling wheels such as those Schnell has in that pic.
A little too rice meets Essex boy IMO .
Subtle is more of what I'm looking for , distinctive but not lairy .
I'm thinking of a bit of a nod to the heritage of the 911 like the sport classic 997 . Heck I might even get a duck tail.
Fyi, I've also got cocomats.
I was looking for feedback on build quality , tyre choice and fitment .
Thanks for the comments though , style is a very personal thing . For example , I couldn't hate the taco wing more . Some people love them, chacun a son gout.
Thanks for the picture WD 2 , I really like the satin finish , any pics of them on a car ? Most of the pics on the website are the all black finish on 996s , which doesn't highlight them like the polished or satin versions might .
.
are these really german made? i thought they were made in taiwan
not that it matters if they are well made, but since u mentioned it...
btw, if that is ur car in your avatar pic, i think it looks just right as it is...
From the website
The OS Design II 19" wheel line is one which was a style revived from the early production 911 cars, it mirrors the factory fuch wheel pattern, the manufacture is based in Germany so this wheel does cost a little more to produce so this is the reason why it is a little more than other 19" wheels in our line-up. 19x8.5 (et-48) 24.7-lbs & 19x10 (et-47) 26.4-lbs OR 19x11 (et-52) 27.1-lbs
Wow. You're on an open forum on the Internet, you tend to get people's opinions wether you want them or not. It's just part of the game.
Schnelly didn't insult you at all, so why the need to insult him? He simply said that he isn't a fan of the style and recognizes that he is (probably) in the minority.
I don't know if his actually are real ones or not, but his wheels are a BBS design that has been used on BMWs and Porsches for quite some time. There are other variations I like more personally, but they aren't completely out of place.
I didn't feel insulted , nor did I intend to insult .
I was talking about the wheel style not Schnell as a person. My comments were about an inanimate object.
As I said , style is a very personal choice .
I was looking for useful quality , technical information and feed back on a supplier .
I guess no one has any.
Thanks
I like the Porsche 997 sport classic with its 19" fuch wheels but I think polished or satin petals would look better on a very dark coloured car than black ones.
I am looking at them also. My question after reading the article someone poster about plus sizing has to do with weight. An increase in weight does affect performance. Wheel dynamics publishes their weights but I can't find weights of the stock porcshe wheels to compare.
Oh, and satin black is the only way to go.
I think black wheels with a black car would look good .
Or black wheels with a contrasting bright colour like red , white , yellow etc.
My car is atlas grey which in most lights looks kinda midnight blue .
I'm not sure of the match .
Heh. Touch. I'm not sure I would have picked these wheels, but I like the way the car looks and I'm not keen to spend 3-4K to find out I like a new set even less.
Once you're rocking the GT3 wing, subtlety has already gone out the window.
Well since there was nothing substantive , might as well turn it into fashion week.
Fikse/Fuchsfelge make a fuch wheel , and it's a canadian company local to Vancouver .
They make them in 18 inch too which I would prefer . But the WD wheels are 1900 usd a set of 4 ( plus custom finish) and the fikse wheels are 5 k usd a set ! ( 1500 each canadian per wheel, plus custom finishing)
Ps Thanks for having a sence of humour Schnell and taking the comment in the spirit which it was intended. You set a good example.
Now what type of purse dog goes best with my limited slip diff?
Also do you guys think string back gloves and gold chain necklaces will come back in at PCA events?
Damn that looks good. And that's my car and color (sans roof).
Hate to hijack the thread but do you know the weight of those compared to the standard carrera IV 18's?
Here is the weights, you can then compare them to any wheel out there:
19x8.5 (et-48) 24.7-lbs & 19x10 (et-47) 26.4-lbs OR 19x11 (et-52) 27.1-lbs.
Wheel Dynamics
Sadly, while I really like the looks of the OD Design II's, I just don't like 19" wheels with my 996... Just never really looked "right" to me. (Purely subjective of course.)
I'd prefer 18s but at twice the price for fikse/Fuchsfelge 18s vs WD 19s , both german made
WD has a lot going for it .
I could get them custon finished and still save 2 grand .
I think you've mixed up our wheels with those which are shown by golfnutintib on post #27 of this thread. Those wheels are made by a manufacture based out of Taiwan.
The OS Design II wheels are manufactured by a company based out of Germany, not to be confused with AG wheels.
Wow, this is pretty light considering the size and design of these wheels.
Putting the performance/ride comfort aspect aside, generally anytime you have a lip involved on a wheel tends to make the wheel 1" smaller from aesthetic perspective. I think the 19's look great and proportionate to both 997/996 bodies myself.
And just like peanut butter goes great with chocolate, these wheels would look **** with a duck bill retro spoiler on the back, otherwise, it just wouldn't seem as complete to me on a modern Porsche. My $.02
Good to know about Germany. You should really emphasize that these wheels are made in Germany in all your ads.
Thank you for your feedback... Understand your input totally, you're right we should post that upfront....
We are working on a new 22" from Italy and so we did those like this...
