Anther option would be to lay the tape out flat, use a pencil to trace the outline, cut the outline, apply the stickum to the lettering, and then finally apply the lettering to the car...

Suggestion

I would apply a full-width strip of automotive trim tape (the stuff they tape on side skirts and stuff) and use an Xacto to trim away the excess tape - and then remove the backing and stick it to the car.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have removed the turbo scripting from the back of the car so I could paint it matte black. When I go to put it back on what is a good way to adhere it to the car? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Your local auto store should have badge tape which is specific double sided tape. Might be tricky to use as the script is very thin, might have to just cut very small strips. Unless you buy a new badge that's already backed and hang your old one somewhere! Also there are images somewhere on here for the placement.

POST 3Original post

I would apply a full-width strip of automotive trim tape (the stuff they tape on side skirts and stuff) and use an Xacto to trim away the excess tape - and then remove the backing and stick it to the car. If you can find black tape, use it - that would help hide any imperfections in your trim job. Anther option would be to lay the tape out flat, use a pencil to trace the outline, cut the outline, apply the stickum to the lettering, and then finally apply the lettering to the car...
