Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I want to use all-season tires. I've searched around a lot and can't seem to find a clear answer, but I think I'm close. Will these tire sizes fit and work with the AWD system, etc.? I've read about a variety of revs per mile tolerances for the AWD system (viscous coupling) that include, 4%, 3%, 3.33%, etc. This combination of Continental DWS 06+ is a difference of 3.11%, 828 revs front and 803 rear. New DWS tires and sizes: 828 revs front 225/40 803 revs 285/35 2002 C4 Cab, 6-speed Wheels: 8Jx18 ET52 10Jx18 ET65

Yeah. I tried that. There's no options for all-season tires. This is a daily driver. We don't get much snow, but it does get cold. So the cold grip is the concern. Thanks!

POST 5Original post

I ended up going with 265/35 18 in the rear and 235/40 18 in the front on a 2003 C4. Continental dws06. This keeps the diameter match to OEM very close. Happy with these.

I have a C2, and have the same sizes with Michelin AS/3 (old) tires. Works decent in the snow (I wont get stuck, but they are no match for winters).

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK. Thanks for the suggestions. I think this is what I'll do (unless I hear otherwise.) Only 0.4% difference from current tires. Old tires 225/40. Revs 828. 9.1X25.1 285/30. Revs 840. 11.4X24.7 ~ 1.4% New Conti DWS 235/40 revs 818 9.5X25.4 285/35 revs 803 11.4X25.9 ~ 1.8%
