Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I have a leaking gasket at the rear of the engine, passenger side (which is obviously forwards on the car) at the very lowest point. It is slowly weeping a little coolant. Attaching a photo taken from the passenger rear wheel behind the wheel looking in/forwards. cant find it in exploded views as they only show the other side of the enginehm. Any help appreciated :-)

POST 2Original post

yep they left it off the diagram...it may be 99610133650

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks I am tempted to say the cap sits on the cylinder head, see how it is right next to the exhaust port? Ill take some better photos.

POST 4Original post

That is a coolant cap. The part number is 996-101-016-00. Depending on the version you have, the gasket for it is 996-101-336-50. However, at some point they changed the cap from using an o-ring to a gasket. That o-ring is not sold separately. You need to buy a new cap and use the gasket to get it to seal if you have a cap with the o-ring.

super, so cap plus gasket needs to be bought either way and the cost is negligible so might as well get both. Many many thanks.
