Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace oil' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace oil' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Never seen them in person, just pics, but I guess these could be chain tensioner pads. I see a little scoring on them too but am unsure. I wouldn't worry about it... Just keep driving / changing the oil.
OP - A little more background would help with the sleuthing. First time you’ve had the pan off? How long have you had the car? Were these bits in the pan? Is the black hard or flexible? What do you suspect? Do you have (or had) a cam deviation that is wonky?
The black piece is only a cm in diameter, if that is a half piece of the original remnant circumference. If that black bit is all one piece, then the diameters of all original shapes are close to the same. And it appears that the original shape is a tube. Those amber-colored bits don’t appear to be spiral wound, but laterally wound; and are tiny. Nor do they look like pad material at all. Chain pads are very large, and unless the pads disintegrated in a major way, the wear should normally be in tiny bits of hard durometer plastic composite. Have you run the engine? By-the-by, do those amber bits crumble?
Recco you pm porschetech3 here. The man has a day or two with these engines. Good hunting!
yup first time. I bought it with 99k+ miles on the odo in 2020 now with 106k+. Yes bits in the pan nothing discernible on filter. All of them including the semicircular piece are actually that orange color. It appears black on picture due to lighting. Ive thrown them away so dont know how exactly how frail they are but the tiny ones appeared quite brittle. The semicircular one felt hard and solid. I have no idea about cam deviation as I dont have a durametric. Drives great otherwise and I drive it hard too.
