Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Got so tired of fishing them out down by the pulley after pulling the air box, I finally glued these to the body, no more issues.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all -- 2003 C4S owner here. I recently installed the FSI intake elbow ( https://flat6motorsports.com/collect...intake-kit-996 ) and seem to have an "extra" part that I found on the floor of my garage after driving the car post build. EEK. I also recently had a cargraphic valved exhaust system installed. It appears to be a grommet / rubber bushing of some sort. If I had to guess, its some sort of water / drainage system. Does anyone recognize this and/or know where on the car it should be replaced? It say 999 703 49B 40 EPDM on it, FWIW.

Not sure why iPhone photos want to load as a movie on that previous one, but here is a screenshot I took off my computer.

POST 3Original post

I think its the grommet for the air box bolt or locating peg. 99970222140

Yup, a little silicone sealer around the collar should keep them from pulling out with the air-box

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, all! I was suspicious that it was likely from somewhere in the airbox assembly because of where I was "monkeying" around. What a great forum group. Thank you!
