Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I mentioned in a separate thread that Id be taking on a big trip with my newly purchased 1999 911. 100k miles. I bought it three months ago, and since have gone through countless things, from transmission removal to suspension to exhaust and interior overhaul. The car has made me doubt a serious trip a few times but I decided you never know until you try.
My girlfriend has moved to the UK for grad school for a year so I figured Id do something with my newfound boredom. Leaving from Columbus Ohio, I drove through Chicago, to Minneapolis, over to the badlands and black hills of SD. A few days ago crossed Wyoming into Utah, then over to Colorado, back to Utah, and then Colorado again. Im half way through the trip and everything has been perfect. Not a single drop of oil has burned. The only thing that Ive had an issue with is a noisy AC compressor and a slight misfire once or twice. Low grade gasoline alone the way might be the culprit of this though. Heres a few photos of the journey so far, I crossed 2,750 miles today. This coming Tuesday will be interesting as theres plenty of snow forecasted. I enjoy driving all cars Ive had over the years through all conditions possible. The 911 seems to be good at pretty much everything!
Ill be at pikes peak tomorrow. Ill update some more pictures and storys if anything interesting happens.
super jealous of the trip as Utah and Colorado are some of my favorite places to travel and explore what all can you tell us about the car? It looks like it has turbo brakes on it? Or maybe just calipers painted red
The calipers are factory and just painted. That and the wheels were done by the PO. It is stock minus fister mufflers and an air intake. However lots of work has been done recently. Clutch, suspension bushings, brakes and rotors, PPF, new sound system and head unit, and most other general maintenance items. And the riskiest and most controversial aspect, original IMS. Granted its an early dual row. Im at 104,000 miles now and no sign of any issues or flags with oil analysis.
Very cool! Loving the color. Hopefully no borescore. 🤞
I had my c4s delivered to WA from BC and then drove it to IL. The drive was a beauty with the car. Best of everything to you and your car.
Interesting morning on pikes peak. On the way down I ran over this large screw, not really sure what it was doing all the way up there. Nobody is open today and the places that were had no access to my size. Luckily it was in a plugable spot!
I dont know what the deal is with Colorado roads! Today my dad came out to meet me and drive around for a couple days. Within 15 minutes of being in the mountains, he had a giant nail in his tire. So now we have two within two days. Both tires are of the size that nobody stocks within a 3 or so hour drive. Ugh.
Love these types of threads! Glad to see you enjoying the car and it's always an adventure, a nail in the tire or not. I always carry a few tire plugs with me so it can be fixed as long as it's not a blow out. Look forward to the rest of the trip updates.
Fantastic trip!! I drove a lots of that same area about 3 weeks earlier. Put about 4,000 miles on the trip including a few days at the Porsche Together Fest at Indy and then out to Colorado, Wyoming and every thing in between. Much warmer weather in general however with 106 degrees in Denver and even in the 50's on top of Pikes Peak.
On top of Independence Pass at 12,200 ft.
Visit to the Air Force Academy
Probably my favorite color, trying to find one with aero was impossible-land, thankfully Guards Red is slightly faster to make up for it.
Great pics and ride!
This is so cool, and what I look for when I visit enthusiast communities -- people who actually drive their cars! I love seeing dirty Porsches, BMWs, whatever-they-may-be, as proof of the cars being driven.
Every car Ive had recently has got the same treatment. Theyre just cars, why not drive them. I have taken my past 360, 2 Esprits, Gallardo, r8, 4c and Testarossa through some pretty harsh terrain on similar long trips. I wish I had more/better pics but each one of these pictures have pissed off a large amount of people on other forums 😂

holy **** let's be best friends
We got stranded in Orlando this weekend and I drove straight through back to Indiana overnight, similar distance. There was no comfort in our rental Altima and I think the steering bruised my hands.
truly never understood the appeal with "collecting" cars and keeping them mostly garaged. I look at Jay Leno and the probably hundreds of high end cars he has. I can't imagine he gets to drive each enough to enjoy other than the joy of knowing he owns them. drive them, perform preventive maintenances, and drive some more.
As promised. I think its going to take another wash to get it fully cleaned. I always think getting it that dirty is okay until Im underneath the car scrubbing blocks of mud from it. The car did remarkably well, with just some minor blemishes here and there. The only casualty besides the tire was the right control arm bushing went on the way back, but I already changed that before the wash today. 4,375 miles in less than 2 weeks!
