Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I VERY rarely drive my 996 in rain, but a couple of years back, I was in rain and turned on the wipers. I noticed that the driver's side (left) wiper would go further and further to the left each "cycle" until it finally jumped over the windshield and got stuck on the outside of the car. It sucked. I got in back in place, but have since just really avoided driving in the rain (not tough in California). Anyway, going for a drive this week and it is likely to rain. Is this a common issue? Easy fix? Thanks!

check that the fixing nut is tight. if needed - loosen, reposition and re tighten. #4 in this diagram http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=904-00

Perfect, thank you. Got into that and it looks like the part under the arm (not called out in the diagram, but a took a picture) is stripped. I guess I can reassemble and just crank down. But any other ideas to keep this from slipping?
