Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I took it out, sanded it down, and used the same dye.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Oh man, are you going to be happy! Leather dye, regardless of vendor (well, some are probably better than others) will make your interior look almost brand new, especially on black because its the easiest to match.
I wouldn't bother with the repair, at least at first. By the looks of your pics I'll bet just the dye will suffice. You can spray it on, but I've had good luck with just a foam brush. Use several very light coats and you'll be fine.
Your console looks much better than most, but mine was quite banged up. I took it out, sanded it down, and used the same dye. Came out great, and easy to touch up if need be.
I'm incredibly OCD and even though the interior is in excellent condition, I want to return it to a perfect, mint condition. I've been contemplating buying an extra center console and leather wrapping it. Cant stand this finicky soft touch coating on it.
Wrapping your console with leather sounds nice. Someone around here has done it before and it looked great. Getting leather with similar grain pattern will be key.
IMO no need to buy an extra console. It's easy to take in and out, and if the worst happened, and you somehow ruined it, then you could look for another.
I did mine about 3 years ago and have been very happy with it. Contact Robert Budd at classic9leather.com. He sells precut, stitched kits for the console and the arm rest. The trickiest part IMO was where the lock is for the center console. Otherwise very straight forward. I got tired of repainting / dying my console and this totally made that a non-issue.

$120 for a brake handle??? Methinks he's spent too much time looking at the Porsche ordering guide!
Oh wait that's the entire handbrake I think. Looks like it could end up costing quite a bit depending on what you want to do.
So I'm thinking this filler:

And black dye:

Would you recommend a custom color, or should their black dye match up?
I would ask them the question, maybe they've worked with someone on a 996 before. I would think that if you did an entire panel, then the standard black would be "close enough". If you just want to touch up then it could get a little dicey, after all your car has had at least a decade to fade in the sun. Make sure you read through the FAQs on their site, prep is EVERYTHING.
So those blemishes are still there after the leatherique rejuvinator and prestine clean, but at least the rest of the interior is spectacular. Bonus pics of rest of the car too
Will give the filler and dye a shot now
