Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Recently did a lot of maintenance DIY: cleaned the radiators, replaced front air scoops, serpentine belt, coolant hoses (a couple), complete coolant flush and fill (vacuum tool worked great), replaced wheel liners, replaced belly pans, air filter, cabin filter, ATF filter & fluid (that's a pain in the back side on a 2002 tiptronic...

I've done plugs and tubes, rotors and pads, radiator clean, oil and filters, and recently replaced the driver's side door latch.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just changed my oil, filter, and brake fluid. I find DIY to be one of my favorite pass times. What say you DIY guys.
Filter clean as a whistle.
20psi
I give the engine front a dusting.
Bleeding.
Car on 4 stands.
leaves stopped by front DIY grill which I made about a year ago. Still not tarnishing. COST $5....
Hurdi we give you a lot of crap, but its all in good nature. I always respect a man thats not afraid to get their hands dirty (with wd-40). Especially at your age.
aaah thats nice guys. thanks. I will be 74 in October and just come back from a dude ranch in Montana. I am pretty fit for my age. I make it that way by riding my bike, swimming, and using the recreation center during the winter months..
So I read somewhere that you can (virtually) knock 20 years off your age by staying physically fit, no matter what your age is.
Completely with you on the DIY Hurdi. Very satisfying.
DYI is always my first option. Recently did a lot of maintenance DIY: cleaned the radiators, replaced front air scoops, serpentine belt, coolant hoses (a couple), complete coolant flush and fill (vacuum tool worked great), replaced wheel liners, replaced belly pans, air filter, cabin filter, ATF filter & fluid (that's a pain in the back side on a 2002 tiptronic... in the driveway...results were perfect), spark plugs.
No doubt saved yourself thousands of $$$$$$$.. I bought newer tools from the money I saved by DIY ing.... Job well done. I changed gear box oil. Yes that is a pain to get too for topping off. I bought a small pump to get to it. Done most of which you mentioned. I think the fiddliest jobs were the plugs and the water pump. Well worth it and very satisfying to know it was done correctly.
I agree. I'm not much of a mechanic but I do whatever I can thanks to the great DIY's and videos available. I've done plugs and tubes, rotors and pads, radiator clean, oil and filters, and recently replaced the driver's side door latch. Getting ready to do another brake fluid flush. Will probably do the water pump next month. I'm a young stud compared to you - only in my 60's. I do find working on the car to be very satisfying.
I LOVE DIY,
Last week I put my new to me 02 Tara on jack stands and did the following:
-RMS
-IMS
-AOS
-Plugs
-Oil
-Trans Oil
-New Clutch
-New Flywheel
Quite a Job for one person on jack stands!! But I digested it a bit at a time. I had 0 extra pieces which is always a plus!!
That is amazing DIY work. I am nowhere near to doing clutches and dropping engines and actually going inside the engine. I will leave that work (when/if needed to the professionals).
Bloody well done.
Thats my Mel B impersonation. BILL well done to you as well. There is nothing wrong with it but when the time comes, I am dreading doing the AOS but may attempt it next year. I hear its a real PITA. Well done to all our DIY guys on the board.
