Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 3Original post

Looks like the cam shaft end plug is missing... I like your new thread title. The "huge" oil leak that happens occasionally is much worse and much more expensive to rectify.

POST 4Original post

My understanding is that if you have the cam cover removed and replaced (the cam cover is a common source of weeping oil leaks), and too much sealant is used when the cover is reinstalled, the plugs can pop off due to excessive pressure. Of course, it might also be that the plug was just old needs to be replaced. Here's what it looks like when the plug is in place...

POST 5Original post

Something made it pop out... Those seldom eject.

Please elaborate! I was driving hard around a circular "on ramp" and at first just thought it was the common higher G smoke I read about.

POST 7Original post

Just before it popped out, had you decelerated very quickly?

POST 8Original post

I had the same thing happen on track during a spin out. Very scary - thought my engine was gone. It was a big relief to find out it was only a $5.00 part.

POST 9Original post

A smear of Drei-bond on the OD of these will lock them in place.

POST 11Original post

More than likely... I'd probably replace that AOS soon.
