I know moving the climate control lower isn't a big deal, but if I buy the double drink replacements (which look like Audi's), I'm sure it's not big enough to fill the slot.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know, touchy topic! But I admit I'm rather fond of the in dash holder on my '02 C2 coupe. I've been babying it for some time, but today I can't get it to say locked in place. I've had it out and pieced it together before, so I know I probably need another. OEM is stupidly expensive, so what are my options? I remember seeing pics of one guy's dash with two pop out cup holders in the same slot that were clearly out of an Audi, and I like those too. Oh, and please save your suggestions for other locations. I want to replace the stock unit.

POST 2Original post

I'd go this route: (Dual side by side cupholders) http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg2.htm#item9 Part Number: 000-044-801-91-OEM

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, that looks like what I saw in the pic! I'm a little concerned by the description about needing to move the climate control module, but that seems to only apply to cars with PCM, which mine doesn't have. I'll contact Pelican. Thanks!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oops! Just saw its only for '01 and earlier.

Moving the climate control module is no biggie. Although I haven't done it yet. Where? I didn't see that.

I believe you can use this in '02+ models if you have the extra DIN space.

POST 7Original post

There's a used OEM one for sale on eBay for ~$100. At a third of the price new, probably worth looking into if you like the one you already have. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...older&_sacat=0 It's about a third of the way down the page.

Better check that again. It's based in the UK so not only are you gonna pay hefty shipping and possibly custom dutie taxes(assuming seller wants to ship it overseas) but it looks like it maybe setup for the RHD models so it swings out the opposite way.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good catch Alpine! Pic does look like it does open the opposite way! I know moving the climate control lower isn't a big deal, but if I buy the double drink replacements (which look like Audi's), I'm sure it's not big enough to fill the slot. Is there a tray that will fit?
