Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, My 996 was stored at my mom's place and I went to go pick it up but found the battery to be dead (despite being on a trickle charger). Anyway, I looked up a method to release the frunk using the red positive jump terminal in the fuse panel but I noticed mine was missing. Or at least it appears to be missing. Can anyone confirm whether I am in fact missing this terminal? If so, is this the correct part from Sun Coast to purchase and replace in to my fuse panel? Any DIY how-to's for performing this install? Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

It does look like the terminal is missing. This is my fuse box. If you look closely you can see an image of the hood open on the end. Sorry, don't know anything about replacing it.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you Mike! I'll go ahead and order a replacement. I guess I need to figure out where to connect it now. At any rate, I've purchased a new battery and battery maintainer. Will also keep the frunk slightly open next time I store it as well.

POST 4Original post

When I zoom in on the photo it seems something red is back there in the correct spot. The remaining wires?

Yes, it's the wiring behind the fuse panel. The terminal with hood icon is definitely missing. I am unsure why it would be missing because the car is basically bone stock besides wheels. My car is a 2000 with a 99 build date. Anyone know if there are certain years that did not receive this jump terminal...?
