Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
My take away was making sure the vacuum system is solid and replacing the fuel injectors.
Leading evidence: 'Replace fuel injectors' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace fuel injectors' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I guess the next thing I get to figure out is how to replace the injectors in the car.

We always replace all the plastic corrugated tubing on the engine.

I would also strongly recommend replacing the vacuum canister under the intake manifold.

Would you be able to comment on some of the suggested plastic items that you would replace while there?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I saw that last night and was able to chat a bit with the presenters, participants, and moderator. It was very cool to get to hear you guys talking about the engines and I learned a lot. A small group of folks watching and I'm grateful everyone took their evenings to have that conversation.
There was discussion about the plastic bits that should be replaced that often crack such as the oil fill tube. I'm doing my secondary air injection overall this summer. Would you be able to comment on some of the suggested plastic items that you would replace while there?
Thanks for doing such an excellent job of explaining these engines!

Thanks for joining last night.
We always replace all the plastic corrugated tubing on the engine. These lead to and from the AOS, extending to the throttle body, and then down to the cylinder head.
I would also strongly recommend replacing the vacuum canister under the intake manifold. All of these plastic items can crack, fail, and lead to vacuum leaks later down the road. We try to stimulate thought with these webinars, and help people understand what plays into these issues.
Thank you Jake. I thought last night was very informative. I've been thinking about the next steps to take with mine all day. Talking to other car buddies. My wife doesn't seem to be that interested, but listens none the less.
I appreciate what you've done for this community!
Excellent webinar Jake! I missed the first one after getting tied up with some last minute work. Super informative, and very cool the way you all compliment each others knowledge base/strengths - not to say any of you are weak in any areas
...It was just that you'd each pick up right where the last guy stopped and take it to another level based on your own experiences. It was really impressive how well you all worked together. Looking forward to more of these
My take away was making sure the vacuum system is solid and replacing the fuel injectors. I guess the next thing I get to figure out is how to replace the injectors in the car. Yay!
^^^ That'd be a nice write-up. It's definitely a major pita! I think one of the big keys will be at least lowering the engine as far as possible and removing the throttle body, & intake plenums/runners. There's a lot of stuff that sits on top of the engine which obstructs getting to the fuel rails (as they're sitting way out near the edges of the engine bay). I'm pretty sure you've got to remove the rails as they sit on top of the injectors. They're tough to see in these photo's because they're black (MK I) but if you look closely and then imagine the engine in the bay you get the idea. If you have the MK I injectors/rails it may be worthwhile to change bot out so you can easily swap in MK II injectors in the future - you can modify the MK II injectors to work with MK I rails, but it's just another annoying step... Good luck
