Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Install with the new nuts and bolts' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check local dealer' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I have a container of zinc anti seize that will be used extensively on assembly.

My friend used lots of heat to heat the tube on the bracket, a clamp to hold the brackets the tubes are between and the hammer/punch to finish.

I used a ton of zinc anti seize when I put back together, at least I think it was zinc due tot he heat.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hit it back in then spray pb blaster or similar in there to break up the rust. Its frozen on the sleeves so u may have to blow out those bushings and get new. U can also seperate that braket by removing the nuts on the welded stud but that may cause more issues
I had the same problem. Went to the hardware store and got some pipe and a few bolts that would slide into it. Cut the pipe to fit and slid it into the mesh, then installed with the new nuts and bolts. Worked great. They were rusted solid and expanded till the sleeve split as you can see in the one picture. I needed to hack saw them out.
Funny, out of all the issues I expected; didnt expect this. With all the brackets I figured the bolts would just snap. Nope, they all just rounded. Thank goodness I have a grinder. Worst case I can get a used set on eBay.
My friend will help me in the morning. Hes got skill and some crazy tools. Fingers crossed, thanks guys.
Im about to get to this stage, still trying to figure out which combination of wrenches to get those nuts off the brackets. Do people replace those steel wool looking washers or are those generally reusable? Once I get the mufflers removed, Ill have a better idea of what I need for hardware. I can already tell most of whats there for nuts and bolts is going in the trash. I cut off the clamps holding the tips on and got three out of four bolts holding the clamp from muffler to exhaust. Thats probably going to get cut off too.
13mm is your friend. Have all 13mm sockets and wrenches available. In total I used as mentioned the 13mm, a grinder, a torch, a hammer, a punch, and a large clamp I needed the grinder to get the muffler clamps off because the nuts had rounded. The torch, punch and clamp was used to fix the problem above. My friend used lots of heat to heat the tube on the bracket, a clamp to hold the brackets the tubes are between and the hammer/punch to finish.
Before you start, I would also recommend PB blasting or liquid wrench the heck out the three nuts on each bracket, the muffler clamps and let sit over night.
I would recommend buying all the clamps. bolts and nuts involved including the clamps for the muffler tip. I got all of the hardware at auto atlanta for $120. It took about a week and a half to get.
I am pretty sure the steel wool is reusable. I used a ton of zinc anti seize when I put back together, at least I think it was zinc due tot he heat.
I was looking at Auto Atlanta this morning and the diagrams make picking what you need straightforward. That was the plan, get it apart and make a list of all the broken hardware to order in one shot. I have a container of zinc anti seize that will be used extensively on assembly.
U may want to check your local dealer. If i order on line i get the same prices as autoatlanta and its there for me to pick up in 2 day with no shipping
Ive almost got the brackets out. I cut the front bolts off with the Dremel. My local dealer is close and since its just clamps and bolts at the moment, it may be worth checking.
Last but important. Leave the clamps for the exhaust tip loose until after its on car. Make sure clamps that attaches tip to muffler is pointed in a direction that you can get a wrench on. I wish I knew that, didnt see written anywhere. Oh, tires off help incredibly.
We all learn by doing, even the best. I got the brackets off without breaking anything. Mashed a few fingers in the process, but results often come with pain working with this stuff. Making my shopping list of hardware.
